Obituary for Gerald “Jerry” Schiller

Gerald “Jerry” Schiller, 72, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019.

Visitation will be, Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm, at Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services. 4207 SW 21 st Street, Amarillo, TX 79106.

Jerry was born on May 1, 1947 in Comfrey ,Minnesota to Jesse and Elsie Schiller. He attended college after graduating high school in Springfield, Minnesota. In 1971 Jerry and his wife moved to Amarillo, Texas and had his first daughter Shari in 1971 and had his second daughter Stephanie in 1973.

He worked as a mechanic, carpet layer, and later owned a carpet cleaning business, AAA Steam Away. He liked to spend his free time watching Nascar & Sprint races and expressing his love for cars, he was a jack of all trades, and his later years, spending time with his four grandchildren.

He enjoyed gambling. playing pool, and staying creative as he worked in his shop. He’s never met a stranger. He told the best stories and jokes.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse Schiller and Elsie Streich Schiller.

Survivors include his two darling daughters Shari Willburn and husband John, and Stephanie Anderson and husband Todd; four grandchildren, Keevyn and Macey Anderson, Aaron Hayes, and Christina Willburn. All from Amarillo.
