Harvey Frank Poynor of Tonto Village, Arizona passed away on October 19, 2019. Harvey had recently returned home to Amarillo to spend time with his loving nieces and nephews.
Harvey was born October 14, 1940 in Estelline Texas to Ira Preston Poynor and Dorothy Cox Poynor.
He was the older brother of Larry and the younger brother of Dolly Poynor Helm, both of whom preceded him in death.
Harvey lived an adventurous life as a bronc buster, race horse trainer, mounted horse guide and a final and calmer chapter as a bartender in Tonto Village. Where he was an icon even though he was a bit confused about what an icon actually was.
He leaves behind to cherish memories shared with numerous nieces and nephews in Amarillo, Texas. His last days were filled with laughter and more adventures with Jeremy Helm, his great-nephew.
In addition to his Amarillo family, he is survived by a son Clint Poynor and wife Kathy of Illinois; a daughter Tammy Love of Phoenix; grandsons Austin Poynor and Stephen Love; a granddaughter Cheyenne Love and the entire village of Tonto.
He will be greatly missed by all, including his nieces and nephews; great –nieces and great-nephews; great-great nieces and great-great nephews and great- great-great nieces and a great-great-great nephew. He was a great guy!
