Jan Grimes, 63, died August 16th , 2019 at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, TX. Her final days were spent surrounded by her son, daughter and other beloved family members.
As per Jan’s wishes there will not be a funeral or ceremony but instead a small family backyard, celebration of life memorial. It will be held August 24th in Amarillo, TX.
Jan grew up in Henrietta, TX and her parents were Leland and Vada Davis, sisters Eunice and Carolyn Cogburn and brother Phil Davis.
Jan was a trailblazer in the oilfield working most of her life in that Industry starting in the late 70’s. She loved the oil rigs and everything about the business. She was able to move and live in several areas, including Alaska, Texas, New Mexico, and Utah with her career. Anyone that worked with her knew she had a true passion and cared about the safety of all “her guys” that worked with her.
Her interest included gardening, wood burning, singing and music, hiking and enjoying nature, and her animals. She could make any rose or flower beautiful and would spend hours and hours in her gardens.
She was also a spiritual person who continued to improve herself throughout her life, reaching many of her goals in the last few years here on earth.
Jan is survived by her sister Eunice Cogburn; one brother Phil Davis; one son, Michael Grimes; one daughter and her spouse, Rebekah and Manuel Hernandez; and three grandchildren, Serenna, Sophia and Sahara.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Leland Davis; mother, Vada Davis; sister Carolyn Cogburn and her husband Mike Grimes.
