Obituary for Randal Eugene Janow

Randal Eugene Janow, 66 of Amarillo fought a long hard battle against Cancer. He went to join the angels on Thursday July 25, 2019.

Randal was born on April 29, 1953 in Mooreland, OK. He moved to Amarillo where he met and married Cathy. They were married on September 1, 1973. Randal enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 19.

Serving 20 years he then retired from the U.S. Army. He worked for Duke Electric for 14 year and 5 years for Elliot Electric.

Randal was happiest when he was fishing, sitting on the back porch, and cooking out with family and friends. His favorite college football team was Texas Longhorns.

He preceded in death by his father Vernon and mother Shirley Janow.

He is survived by his wife Cathy; 2 sons, Joe and wife Daphne Janow, Jack Janow and wife Shauna Janow; sister Debbie Janow; 2 grandchildren Brian and Krissie Janow; 1 great-grandchild Grayson who was born April 29, 2019 on Randals’ birthday.

Service will be held at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial, Thursday, September 6th 1:00 PM. 4101 South Georgia, Amarillo, TX

  1. So sorry for your loss. Served with Randy while in recruiting 1990/91. He was a great soldier and leader/recruiter. We have some fond memories of Randy & Cathy during our assignment in Amarillo. Miss You.
