Obituary for Shirley Mae Carroll

Shirley Mae Carroll was born to Virgil Shaw and Jesse Orr on August 24, 1945 in Wellington, Texas. In 1954 the family moved to Tulia, Texas where she completed school and lived out her life until her passing on November 29, 2019.

July 10, 1965 she married the love of her life, Don Carroll. Together they raised 3 daughters; Susan, Donna and Kerrie.

She loved being the wife of a farmer and a mother. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, sewing and gardening. She loved telling stories of the adventures her and Don had throughout their years together and always laughed when she reminisced about the numerous tales of her children and grandchildren. Shirley was fiercely protective of her family and beloved fur baby Chloe.

Shirley leaves behind the love her life of 54 years, Don Carroll; beloved dog, Chloe; daughter, Susan Freeman and husband Corrin; grandsons, Brandon, James and Marty; daughter, Kerrie Carroll-Hendrix; grandsons, Kevin Johnson, Jadin Knutson, Bradin Knutson; granddaughters, Amanda Reeves, Kimberly Reeves, Katie Reeves; sister, Cathy Stevens and husband Jim of Tennessee; brother, Bobby Sanders and wife Carla; 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and adopted daughters whom she loved dearly.

Shirley is proceeded in death by her dad, Virgil Shaw; mother, Jesse Orr; brother, Gary Shaw; daughter, Donna Carroll and great grandson Donald Froseth.

  1. She will be truly missed. She always had a smile on her face, and Always laughing. She’s in heaven with her mom, I know she’s happy to be with her and her daughter. We will be praying for your family.
