Delia M.Valdez was born on March 22, 1935 in Ft. Stockton to Bacilio and Felisa (Sosa) Marruffo. Delia was a homemaker most of her life and dedicated to raising her four children and 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was a devoted Catholic and very passionate about her family.
Visitation will be on Saturday January 5, 2019 from 4-6p.m. at the Kent R Hance Chapel on the Texas Tech campus (2511 17th St). Rosary will follow immediately at 6p.m. in the chapel for those who would like to attend.
All are welcome to gather at Betty and Rubens’ home at 5424 44th St. Lubbock, TX between 6:30-8 p.m.
Delia was preceded in death by her parents, Bacilio and Felisa Marruffo; brothers, Augustine, Jesus, and Segundo Marruffo; sisters, Consuelo Castro, Bertha Montemayor, and Adela Ibarra.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Sylvia Perez & husband Luis Perez, Evelyn Medellin & husband Richard Medellin, Esmeralda (Smitty) Roye & husband Norman Roye; son, Reuben Valdez & wife Betty Valdez; sister Helen Hernandez & husband Juan Hernandez; brother Ezekiel Marruffo & wife Virginia Marruffo; ex-husband Felipe Valdes and several nieces and nephews.
