Obituary for Ronald “Ron” Dean Widener

Ronald “Ron” Dean Widener born June 16th, 1943 in Winfield, KS and passed on November 7th 2018 at the age of 75. His life was cut short by ALS.

He is survived by his spouse Sue Widener of Skellytown, TX. His daughter Paula and her spouse Daniel Throop. His granddaughter Kelsey Brown whom he was a father figure too and one grandson Remington Throop all of Skellytown, TX and special nephew Bryan Wood and spouse Robyn of Amarillo, TX and three honorary grandsons Tyson Wood, Brayden Wood and Corbyn Wood all of Amarillo TX and one sister Connie Brooks of Rapid City, SD and blessed by many other nieces and nephews and his dog Gigi.

He was proceeded in death by his father Edward L. Widener and his mother Amy Widener. His Brothers Richard, Leroy, Chuck, Jim, twin brother Donnie and one sister Madge.

His memorial service will be held at 6:00pm Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Skellytown, 306 Roosevelt St. with Carter Pirtle officiating. The family requests that everyone dress casual. Arrangements are under the guidance of Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services of Amarillo.

He was one of the strongest men who overcame many set backs, but still would do anything for others.
