Johnny Ellis Ogden, 71, of Amarillo, passed away on May 20, 2021. He was born on December 10, 1949, in Rotan, Texas to Troy Ellis and Vera Aline (Hicks) Ogden.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 24, 2021, at Lighthouse Funeral Chapel, 4207 SW 21st Ave, in Amarillo. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6969 East Interstate 40. Arrangements are under the personal care of Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m.
He was a good father to his own as well as many others. He loved westerns and Street Outlaws. He could take anything old and make it new again. He will be remembered for his baking skills and his beef jerky. If ever his family needed something, they knew right were to go.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; Troy Ogden Dale Rush, and Aline Rush; a son Bleu Ogden, and a grandson, Johnathan Aikens.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jessica Cooper and husband Chris; granddaughters, Catherine Cain, Cierra Romero, and husband Zack, Jennifer Franklin and husband Jonathan, Stormi Allen, and Bailey Ogden; grandsons Chance Simpson, Chris Ogden and wife Kimber, Bryson Ogden, Tyler Cooper, and Josh Cooper. His lil buddy Jonathan Cain and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Carol Blasingame and husband Jerry; lifelong, friend Dennis Downing, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
