Maria Magdalena Zamora

Maria Magdalena Zamora, 75 passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

A Celebration of Maria’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at New Life Outreach Ministries, 406 Pittsburg Street, with Pastor Spike Maldonado officiating.  

The family will receive visitors from 6-8:00 p.m., Monday, November 29, at Lighthouse Chapel, 3707 Wolflin  Ave. A Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Maggie was born July 22, 1946, in Campwood, Texas to Marcos and Maria Ortiz. She retired from working many years in the Beef Processing Industry and thereafter continued her career in insurance sales.

Maggie was happily married to Jesus Zamora, her lifetime partner of 25 years. Maggie was a kindhearted woman who enjoyed dancing, cooking, baking, sewing, and going to the casinos with her husband, Jesus. She especially loved camping and river time in her hometown of Campwood, Texas with all of her siblings. 

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Marco and  Maria (Aguerro) Ortiz; her brother, Marco Ortiz II; her son, Ruben Perales, and her daughter, Rosaria Perales Loya.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Jesus Zamora; daughters, Anna Perales, Juliana Alvarez and husband Jorge Hernandez, and Courtney White and husband Shelby; sons, Cruz Perales Jr., and Garrett Zamora and Kaitlin Johnson; sisters, Benita Aguilera of Campwood, Texas, Martha Ortiz of Uvalde, Texas, Cecilia Contreras of San Angelo, Texas, Ernestina Hidalgo of Odessa, Texas, Linda Luna of El Paso, Texas, and Martina Sanchez of Campwood, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.
