Maggie was happily married to Jesus Zamora, her lifetime partner of 25 years. Maggie was a kindhearted woman who enjoyed dancing, cooking, baking, sewing, and going to the casinos with her husband, Jesus. She especially loved camping and river time in her hometown of Campwood, Texas with all of her siblings.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Marco and Maria (Aguerro) Ortiz; her brother, Marco Ortiz II; her son, Ruben Perales, and her daughter, Rosaria Perales Loya.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Jesus Zamora; daughters, Anna Perales, Juliana Alvarez and husband Jorge Hernandez, and Courtney White and husband Shelby; sons, Cruz Perales Jr., and Garrett Zamora and Kaitlin Johnson; sisters, Benita Aguilera of Campwood, Texas, Martha Ortiz of Uvalde, Texas, Cecilia Contreras of San Angelo, Texas, Ernestina Hidalgo of Odessa, Texas, Linda Luna of El Paso, Texas, and Martina Sanchez of Campwood, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.
She’s a joy to everyone who met her. She loved her children and husband truly. I’m a better person for knowing her.
