Jimmy Robledo, Sr.

Jimmy Robledo Sr., AKA “Old School,” a nickname known by many, was born in Seminole, Texas, on December 18, 1955, to Elisandro and Francisca M. Robledo.

He met the love of his life, Margarita Villalovos, in Santa Maria, California. They married on October 19, 1973.

He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends. He loved to dance, listen to oldies and Tejano music, bowling, and corn hole. He had a great passion for low-rider cars and always dressed up as a “cholo.” His favorite football team is the New York Giants, and his favorite baseball team is the New York Yankees. Our father always put others before himself and would not even tell a stranger, no, if he was in need.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Elisandro and Francisca M. Robledo, and six brothers.

He leaves behind his wife, Margarita V. Robledo of Amarillo; a daughter, Angie R. Mondragon, and her husband, Anthony; his four sons. Rick Robledo and wife Linda, Jay Robledo and partner Roger Lopez, Angel Robledo and Shannon Nadeu, and Tommy Robledo, all of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He was the baby of 12 siblings, and is survived by three sisters, Velma Ruiz, and Sally Robledo, both of Santa Maria, California, and Della Fierro of Kermit, Texas, and two brothers, Elisandro Robledo, Jr. and wife Mary of Santa Maria, California, and Joe Robledo of Midland, Texas.

On behalf of the family, we were honored to have the BSA Hospice Care of the Southwest nurses, DeeDee RN and Kristi RN, and Jennifer SW, take such great care of our father.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 23, 2024, at Lighthouse Funeral Home Chapel, 3707 Wolflin Ave., 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22. Mr. Robledo will lie in state at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 noon.
