Johnny Dean Broyles, beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 7, 2025. He was born February 25, 1949, to Ralph and Dean Broyles in Amherst, Texas.  Johnny grew up in Lazbuddie, Texas, where he graduated from Lazbuddie High School in 1967. He went on to attend West Texas State University (WT), laying the foundation for a great career to support his family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo, Texas.

Johnny retired in 2010 with 30 years of service as a Control Room Operator at Xcel Energy, where he took pride in his work. When not working he found joy in the simple yet meaningful moments in life. An avid outdoorsman, Johnny loved camping, fishing, riding motorcycles, and escaping to the mountains where he felt most at peace.

He enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren many things, but one of his biggest smiles came from being on Ute Lake teaching them to water ski, fish, and the basics of boating.

Above all, Johnny cherished his family. Married to the love of his life, Robin Kay Taylor Broyles, on January 7, 1977. For 48 beautiful years their bond served as a testament to enduring love and commitment. Together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support.

Johnny’s greatest pride was his role as a father and grandfather. Always treasuring the time that he spent with those he loved the most.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Dean Broyles, his sister Patcine Jenkins, and his nephew Toby Gibson.

Survivors include his wife Robin; his son Michael Broyles and wife Teri; his daughters Jennifer Diaz and husband Jimmy, and Toni Redfearn and husband Brady, all of Amarillo; his 9 grandchildren Johnathon and wife Kaylee, Hanna, Michaela, Jasmine, Holden, Katelynn, Jaidyn, Briley, and Jimmy III, and one great-granddaughter Kynlee. He is also survived by his brother Jimmy and wife Tonna, and his sister Maxine and husband Randy.

Johnny will forever be remembered for his knowledge, the love of teaching others, and the love he had for his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever hold his memory close.
