Benito “Benny” Marcello Garcia 65, of Amarillo, passed away surrounded by his family on August 16, 2025. He was born in Abernathy, Texas on January 16, 1960, to Antonio and Alice (Aragon) Garcia.
A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Lighthouse Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive visitors until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 4122 S. Bonham St., Amarillo, Texas, 79110. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery East, Corner of 34th and Arthur Streets.
Benny loved riding motorcycles, watching Westerns and other old television shows. He enjoyed attending mass weekly and spending time with his family. Benny was always good at working on cars and fixing things. He listened to Rock & Roll and Christian music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Alice Garcia; three brothers, Tony Garcia, Daniel Garcia, and Greg Garcia; sisters, Ophelia Castillo, Isabel Castillo, and Balbina Hernandez, and grandchildren, Annastasia, and Samuel Ozuna.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Elisia Ozuna and husband Jose, and Desirae Benitez and husband Lorenzo; grandchildren, Eli Garcia Olivarez, Jayden Ozuna and Zo Benitez; former wife, Elia Garcia; a sister, Sabina Ramos, and brothers, Robert Garcia of Fairfield, Texas, and George Garcia of Colorado.
I was saddened to hear of Benny’s passing. I only knew him from attending Mass on Sundays. He was a friendly man. My sincere condolences to the entire family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May he Rest in Peace!!! 😢

I’m saddened to hear of Benny’s passing. I worked with him for several years at Panhandle Steel Buildings. He was a heck of a guy. My condolences to his family.
