Alexandra Faith Jansen, of Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Port Huron, Michigan, passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Alex was born January 16, 1996, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and was a resident of Port Huron for 18 years. She attended Port Huron High School, where she excelled in softball. After high school she moved to Texas, where she resided up until her death.
Alex will always be remembered for her quick smile and her ability to bring joy into other people’s lives. Despite the hardships she faced, she never let the burdens of life diminish her courage and grace. She had an adventurous spirit that showed through any adversity she faced. Alex was a beautiful soul who brightened any room she entered.
In her much too short life, Alex touched the lives of so many others. More than anything, she cherished time with her family, finding endless joy in her three beautiful children. They were, and will always be, the light of her life and a testament to her love and devotion. Alex’s zest for life and unwavering love for family and friends will be her greatest legacy.
A cherished mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, Alex will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons, Aiden (10) and Tavien (2); daughter, Alyce Jean (19 months); husband, Nate Cummings; father, Daniel (Jennifer) Jansen of Port Huron; mother, Heather (Duane) Akin of Amarillo, TX; grandparents, Rich and Bonnie Hart and John and Donna DeSpain, of Colorado Springs, and Charles and Aneta Jansen of Mackinac Island, MI; uncles, Michael, Travis and Robert Hart; Casey DeSpain (Marie) Chris Ishmael aunts Kimberly Jansen; Katrina (Brent)Walker, Anne (Zach) Metcalf, brothers, William and Brandon DeSpain, both of Amarillo, Nathaniel (Katlyn) Jansen of Lake Orion, MI, and Caden Jansen of Columbus Township, MI; sisters, Raven Smalstig (Jacob Fortune) and Kyia Smalstig, both of Port Huron; special friends, Alexis and Desiree, both of Port Huron; and many cousins and friends.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alex’s name may be made directly to Lighthouse Funeral Services of Amarillo to help defray funeral costs and provide for the needs of her three precious children.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo, Texas. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the same location. A celebration of Alex’s live will be held in Michigan at a later date.

Dear Alex, You called me grams, not grandma or grandmother, just grams. You were independent and strong willed like both of your parents. Your smile was radiant and your laughter infectious. You had a quick wit like no other and stood up for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves. We had so many great conversations in person and by phone. You always knew how to make me laugh even thru your own pain. The love that I have for you, my first born grandchild, is undeniable and unwavering.
