Angel Hernandez, 23, of Amarillo, passed away on January 17, 2025. She was born in Amarillo on June 4, 2001.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Gateway Church, 5416 Dumas Drive, Amarillo.
Angel has an intoxicating smile that would light up any room and warm any heart everywhere she went. She cherished every moment she could, spending time with her friends, her family and especially her siblings.
She loved playing video games with everyone. Angel drew and took pictures of flowers. She enjoyed going to work and interacting with all her co-workers at Dillard’s. Angel absolutely adored her nephew Jaxon.
If Angel could give you the moon, she would have. She was also fierce and very protective, and she always had so much love that she would give to anyone that would be brave enough to accept it.
She was preceded in death by an uncle, Nick Wheeler.
Left to cherish Angel’s memory are her parents, Jonathan and Julie Hernandez, and Laci Wheeler; her siblings, a brother Michael and five sisters, Sage, Kaydence, Maggie, Abby, and Kylie; her great grandparents, Celestino Rangel, Joyce Nabors, and “Dean Dean”; grandparents, Oralia and Jeremiah Rangel, Joe and Cindy Hernandez, Glenda Brown, Terri Nizza, and Derwin Wheeler; aunts and uncles, Arleen and Bri Waak, Wayne and Amanda Wheeler, Michael and Andi Hernandez, Jeremy and Destiny Bonar, as well as many cousins.
I had the pleasure of working with Angel at Swann Animal Clinic. She was so kind and caring to all animals and people. She was a great vet tech and I’m thankful to have known her. Prayers for comfort and healing to the family.
Angel was the sweetest! Super smart bright girl, was always a joy to mentor to and work with @ Swann ❤ Her smile & compassion will be missed….prayers go out to her family 🙏
Angel was a shining light amongst others. She always positively impacted the people around her. Her kind-hearted spirit would brighten anyone’s day. I am so blessed that I got to work and meet her in this lifetime.

Angel had the most beautiful soul. She always had a smile on her face no matter how she was feeling. Her positivity spread to everyone around her. She always made the days better when I worked with her. I worked with her for some time at Dillards, and I will always cherish the time I spent with her. She will be missed immensely.
I use to walk out at the mall I would go into Dillards Angel would be the first person I saw. She always spoke & had that personal touch. Was always friendly I’d bring her & everyone I knew a snack. I will miss you Angel but I know you’re in a better place without pain. God needed his Angel in heaven
Angel and I spent about three years at Dillards working and goofing off together. Every day I knew she worked I would hunt her down and give her a hug. One night we had a double date at Bubbas after work and had a great time. Just a few months ago we had talked about hanging out again and catching up. I’ll miss her a lot.
She was so sweet she deserved the world. I will miss her at family things love from your cousin.
