On September 30, 2023, Ann Leigh (Kinney) Miranda beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully with family by her side, at the age of 71.
Ann, daughter of Dorothy Ann Kinney of Amarillo, Texas and Sterling Edward Kinney of Miami, Texas was born February 16, 1952, at the Edna Gladney Home in Ft. Worth, Texas. During her childhood and adolescence, Ann was a member of the Amarillo Aquatic Club. She swam for the Amarillo Mavericks swim team and set countless state and national records as a star swimmer. Ann pursued a career as an emergency room nurse at Northwest Texas Hospital. She would express often that her time as a nurse in the field of medicine was her passion and the most fulfilling time of her life. Ann had an immense love for the outdoors and nature. She loved her time living in Connecticut and would often share stories about the beauty of the woods there. She had a love for all living creatures, especially dogs, cats and birds. Ann was married to Heinz A. Miranda May 3, 1977. Heinz was her best-friend and partner for 46 wonderful years. Ann valued and understood the meaning of family and was generous to a fault. She was often called an “Adopted Mother” by those she loved, cared for and helped raise.
Ann was preceded in death by her father Sterling E. Kinney in 1999 and her mother Dorothy A. Kinney in 2003.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Heinz A. Miranda, her children, Erin Elaine Kinney, Samantha Ann Garza, and David Michael Miranda, her six grandchildren, Megan Black, Elizabeth Black, Isleigh Garza, Christopher Garza, Matthew Garza, and Griffon Mason, her two great-grandchildren; and her two sisters, Leslie Nimmo and Julie Attebury.

Prayers to Heinz ,Samantha, David and Erin … love you guys
I was an odd kid when I was 14 and 15 years old but she always treated me with the utmost respect. One of the few adults I liked growing up. The world is lesser without her.
You are all in Our Prayers.
We love you all.
