With hearts full of love and sorrow, we share the passing of Ashton Enrique Barreras, who left this world far too soon at the age of 22. Ashton was born on January 6, 2003, and from the moment he arrived, he brought joy, laughter, and light into the lives of all who knew him.
Ashton lived with determination, grit, and a heart full of passion. Whether it was through his love for boxing, his drive to work hard, or the way he cared for those around him, he showed us what it meant to live life with purpose.
He was the proud son of Tanya Barreras and Enrique Barreras, and the loving brother of Destiny, Theresa, and Tristen. He adored his nephew, Eliga “Peanut,” and his niece, Bralyn, who brought him so much happiness. Ashton also shared a special bond with his loving grandparents, and his life was surrounded by many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who cherished him deeply. He loved his family pets, who were his faithful companions.
Ashton’s smile could brighten any room, his laughter filled hearts, and his presence made life better. He loved deeply, worked hard, and gave his best to those he loved. Though his time on earth was brief, the mark he left will last forever.
A celebration of Ashton’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Trinity Fellowship Church, Student Ministry Auditorium, 5000 Hollywood Road, Amarillo. Arrangements are under the care of Lighthouse Funeral Home. All who knew and loved him are welcome to join in remembering the beautiful life he lived.
Though we are heartbroken, we trust that Ashton now rests in peace and love, surrounded by God’s grace. He will forever be our light, our joy, and our Forever 22.
