It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Barbara Weddle, a true pillar of strength, love, and unyielding family devotion. Born on March 20, 1942, in Bentonville, Arkansas, Barbara embarked on a journey full of determination, sacrifice, and an unwavering dedication to her loved ones. She passed away on October 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of a life well-lived and a family well-loved.

Barbara spent the majority of her life in Bradenton, Florida, where she worked as a legal assistant at the Harrison Law Firm for over 30 years. Her dedication to her work was a testament to her character – she was diligent, dependable, and a stalwart supporter of justice. She was more than just an employee, she was a friend, a confidante, and a source of comfort and support for the many clients who walked through their doors. Her retirement in 2014 marked the end of an era, but it also signified the beginning of a new chapter – one filled with family, love, and a well-deserved rest.

When Barbara moved to Amarillo, Texas, to spend her retirement years closer to family, her life took on a new rhythm. She was surrounded by the people she loved most, including her beloved older sister, her nephew Kenny, his wife Kathi Williams, and her ever-faithful friend Gay Swain. Barbara’s family was her world, and she was their rock, always there to provide comfort, guidance, and a listening ear. As her daughter, I can say with absolute certainty that Barbara was the best mom and grammie anyone could ever ask for. Her love, wisdom, and strength were unwavering, and her legacy will undoubtedly live on in the lives she touched.

In the words of Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Barbara, your radiant spirit and heartfelt compassion made everyone around you feel loved, valued, and cherished. You were a beacon of light in this world, and you will be sorely missed.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Delene Stein. She is preceded in death by her father, Clyde Carpenter, her mother, Dorris Bragg, her son, Dane Weddle, her grandson, Kevin Wood, and her ex-husband, Tommy Weddle.
