Benita Mary Lou Navarette, 72, of Amarillo passed away on September 13, 2024.  She was born on April 4, 1952, in Roswell, New Mexico to Benito and Sista Navarette.

She was raised in Roswell, graduating from Goddard High School.  She married Hector Omero Castillo and together they made many memories until his passing.  She then moved to Amarillo where she worked various jobs, including Taco Bell, Walmart, and Furr’s Cafeteria.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family.

Benita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hector Omero Castillo; a daughter Rose Mary Navarette; a sister, Gloria Moreno; a grandson, Adrian Navarette, and a granddaughter, Erin Margaret Taylor.

She is survived by her two sons, Hector Navarette of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Augustine Castillo, of Amarillo; three daughters, Monica and husband Juan of Florida, Cruz Castillo and Justin Womack of Amarillo, and Priscilla Castillo of Amarillo; grandchildren, Jordan, Navarette, Ethan Navarette, Treasure Fernandez and husband Tyler, Hayley Baeza, Nevaeh Baeza, Avery Collins, Joseph Collins, Mia Castillo, Mya Castillo, Marcos Zaragoza, Miguel Castillo, Zayden Castillo, Anthony Castillo, and Christopher Castillo as well as great-grandchildren, Tyler Fernandez, Jr., Isaiah Fernandez, Adrian Fernandez, Noah Escobar, Kentrell Castillo, Zaviel Castillo, and Kingston Castillo.

Memorial Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Lighthouse Funeral Home Chapel, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo, Texas.
