Billy (William) Frederick Gadberry, Jr. was born on October 28, 1948, to Alice and Bill Gadberry, Sr. in Seattle Washington. Billy passed away on August 11, 2025, in Amarillo Texas.

Billy grew up in Seattle Washington and graduated from Franklin high school class of 1966. Billy enjoyed baseball and football, playing for the Franklin Quakers.

He served proudly in the United States Army as a military police officer. In 1968 to 1970 he was called to serve two tours in Vietnam under the Americal Division. After his military service, he attended Pacific Lutheran university and entered into lifetime employment in financial management and corporate finance.

Billy enjoyed spending his leisure time, writing music, playing the piano, guitar, drums, and singing with his family. He was born with a musical gift and effortlessly learned to sing, play the accordion, piano and guitar from a very young age. Billy has recorded an extensive library of music in his home studio and with his family during his lifetime. He left a musical collection of all genres of music from country, rock, bluegrass, waltzes, and piano concertos. His gift of music and song is cherished by his family, friends, and the world.

Billy will be remembered for his music, his love of taking road trips, and visiting family, sharing family, history, smiles and laughter.  Billy would frequently say, “As long as the happy memories of those you love are shared, they are with you always. They will live on. And in your heart, remember how they made you feel.”

Billy is survived by his four children, his son Billy and wife, Sandra, daughter, Karie, and her husband Mike, daughter Leanna and her boyfriend, Jeff, and daughter, Laura and her husband Shane Billy was a proud grandfather to Corey, Jessica, Shaylee, Gregg, Taylor, Joy, Jordan, Liz, Turner, Josh, Emma, Aiden, and Alyssa. Billy was overjoyed to be a great grandfather to Jayden, Ryan, Eve, Jalynn, and Janelle.

A memorial service will be held for Billy at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington at 10:30 AM on October 24, 2025. There will be a get together afterward at Karie’s home in Orting, Washington.
