Bobby Glenn Castleberry, 87, of Amarillo, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024. He was born November 30, 1936, in Seymour, Texas to R.D. and Jewel (Hogan) Castleberry.
He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed building things. Bobby was a great person, very humble and quiet. He loved his grandkids.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Castleberry, and a son.
He is survived by his children, a daughter, Vickie Ditmore, a son, Ricky Glenn, both of Amarillo, and a son, Bobby Castleberry, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; several grandkids and several great-grandkids.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Cisco, Texas.
He was a good brother. He was competitive. We would race each other on our bicycles, see who could pull the cotton on our row and who the winners would be at the end.
He loved the Marines. I watched a video on my phone yesterday of the troops coming home, they landed in helicopters. Must have been a hundred helicopters. Wished I could call Bobby and tell him to watch it.
I’m the last of the 4 of us kids. Time really went by fast.
He missed Doris so much. They are together now and he’s happy.
He’s with my parents, brother & sister, dozens of relatives and friends.
I’ll miss him.
