It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bobbye Nell Thompson, a beacon of warmth, strength, and grace, on July 2, 2025. She was a beloved mother, friend, and an integral part of the Amarillo, Texas community, where she resided all her life. Born on April 21, 1943, to Howard and Ann Franklin, Bobbye was the embodiment of resilience and love, radiating positivity through all the seasons of her life.
Bobbye, a homemaker by choice, created not just a house but a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. She was a master of her craft, turning every meal into a feast, every occasion into a celebration, and every moment into a memory. As Leo Tolstoy once said, “There is no happiness in life, there’s only a mirage of it on the horizon, so cherish that.” And cherish, Bobbye did. Her life was a testament to cherishing every fleeting moment, every shared smile, every hearty laugh, and every sunrise.
Her zest for life and dedication to her family leaves behind a legacy that will be carried forward by her loving daughter, Debbie Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ann Franklin. As we mourn the loss of Bobbye, we find comfort in the memories she leaves behind – a lifetime of selfless love, enduring strength, and heartwarming smiles. Bobbye’s life, though it ended, will continue to inspire and encourage all who knew her. As we remember her, let us not forget the words of Helen Keller: “What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.”
Let us celebrate Bobbye’s life and remember the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the joy she brought into our lives. We invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos of Bobbye on her memorial page. Remember her life, celebrate her journey, and let her legacy live on in our hearts.
