Bonnie passed away on May 3, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born on June 26, 1954, in Tucumcari, NM, to Troy Jobe and Betty Cummins.
Bonnie, in her children’s youth, was an active member of her church; she often played piano for the congregation and sang solos and duets with her sister Janice. Bonnie has played a role in the lives of many. Throughout her years, she has held several jobs, including prison guard, bus driver, and security guard, all of which have allowed her to have a lasting impact on those around her. She will be remembered for her kindness, big laugh, love for country/gospel music, and her appreciation for a well-done steak.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Jobe and Betty Cummins; her brothers, Westin Jobe and Dwight Jobe; and her sisters, Kathy Ward and Janice Kent.
She is survived by her brothers, Preston Jobe and Keith Jobe; her sons, Jason Burton and wife Jamie, Jeremy Eric Burton; and her daughter, Heather Wilson and husband Randy. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, James Burton, Thomas Burton, and wife Ashley, Nancy Burton and partner Nick, and Taylor Burton and partner Abbigail; as well as her two great-grandsons, William and Alexander Burton. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo, Texas.
I remember when she cut the end of her tumb off and how she would sit in the room and play solitaire. I’m pretty sure she’s the one who taught me how to play. I love yall 💗
