Brenda Kay Allen Stephenson Sardagna

Brenda Kay Allen Stephenson Sardagna was born on May 12, 1954, in Elk City, OK to Billy Aaron Allen and Idotha May (Reeves) Allen. She was called home on August 2, 2025, due to complications from dementia with family by her side.

Brenda was a graduate of Caprock High School, Class of 1972. She married Edwin Lee Stephenson on September 1, 1973. She followed him to Ft. Hood where he was an MP for the Army. She then went with him to Wurtzburg, (West) Germany where she gave birth to a son, Jason Aaron Stephenson on April 19, 1975. She made her way back to the United States and to Amarillo where she gave birth to her second son, Eric Shane Stephenson on August 31, 1976. Her life took a turn when she lost Eric to SIDS on October 19, 1976.

Brenda would work different office jobs, Khoury’s House of Carpets and Chaparral Cleaners being the most prominent, as their bookkeeper. After some time, she felt the desire to enter the medical field and went back to college where she graduated from Amarillo College with her Associate’s Degree in Nursing in May, 1993. She would work for High Plains Baptist Hospital (now BSA) on the oncology floor and their bone marrow unit, before transitioning to home health.  After some time, she and Edwin would grow apart, and they eventually divorced in 1996.

Brenda then met Peter Sardagna, a Hungarian Baron living in California, online. She would eventually make her way to California where she and Peter were married on Catalina Island in March 1999.

While living in California, she worked for a weight loss clinic and various home health agencies before working for hospice agencies and eventually retiring in 2018.

Brenda loved to show her artistic abilities in drawings. She loved going to the beach in hers and Peter’s Snap-On truck that was turned into a beach-mobile. But her greatest love was her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and spoiling them as much as possible.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Idotha, older brother (stillborn), brother-in-law Terry Crum, son Eric, ex-husband Edwin, and husband Peter.

Survivors include son, Jason and wife Lori, sister Carla Allen Kirkland and husband Dave, sister Linda Allen Crum, sister-by-love Renea Wright Miller and husband Monte, grandkids Saddie Jones, Shane Stephenson and wife Elizabeth, Jessica Howe, Jermery Howe and wife Jennifer, Aaron Howe and husband Jose, Maci Maupin and husband Christian, great-grandkids Kaiden Jones, Octavia Jones, Agatha Stephenson, Beverly Stephenson, Caroline Stephenson, Jaxton Howe, Jasper Howe, Caroline Maupin, and many more loving family and friends.

Brenda will be cremated and services will be August 30, 2025 at The Church at Bushland at 2:00 pm in the Student Building.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Palo Duro Nursing Home in Claude, TX or BSA Hospice of the Southwest in Amarillo, TX.
