Calvin Eugene Barker, a loving and determined soul, was born on April 17, 1948, in Winston-Salem, NC, and graced this world with his presence for 75 years. Calvin was known for his feisty yet gentle nature, bringing light and laughter to those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His strength and willingness to face life’s challenges head-on made him a pillar of support for those who loved him.

Calvin’s love for adventure and exploration was matched only by his dedication to his family and friends. His resilience and unwavering spirit will forever be remembered by those he leaves behind, including his brother Thomas Wyatt Barker “TW” and sister-in-law Shirley.

Calvin is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Theodore Barker; mother, Margie Colleen Sams; his sister, Deborah Elizabeth Barker; and grandparents Raleigh Ray Sams, Nina Early Shelton, William McKinley Barker, and Sally Francis Hooker.

Although we mourn the loss of Calvin, we find solace in the knowledge that there will be a great rejoicing, when we are all together again, on the other side of the veil. Love is eternal, and families can be together forever!
