Carol Ann Ochs, 74, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and love for her family. She was born in Garden City, Kansas, to Leonard Yardley and Kathryn Carroll.
She grew up in Garden City, Kansas, where she met Terry in 1965. She married the love of her life in 1968, and they spent nearly 58 wonderful years together. They built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering support for one another.
Carol loved bowling in multiple leagues and had a passion for mentoring youth bowlers. She found great joy in encouraging young people and developing their skills, as evidenced by her management and coaching of the Junior Bowling League for over 25 years.
She faithfully served her community through her work at the Grant County Courthouse. Her commitment, reliability, and warm spirit made her a valued colleague and friend. Carol retired after more than 25 years of service on March 31, 2010.
Above all else, she treasured her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Windy and Dusty, and her cherished grandson Brayden. Some of her happiest moments were spent with the people she loved the most.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Yardley, and a nephew, Cory Bishop.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Terry; her mother, Kathryn Yardley; her daughter, Windy Cruth, and husband Shane; her son, Dusty Ochs and wife Christie; grandson Brayden Cruth and wife Stephanie; sisters, Karen Royce, Vickie Bishop and husband Doug; a brother, Steve Yardley and wife Shiela, and many nieces and nephews.
Her guidance and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.
Services for Carol will be held at First Christian Church in Garden City, Kansas on April 18, 2026, at 11:00 am.

I also admireded and enjoyed Carol and was honored to be her flower girl in her wedding. I loved my yellow dress with a white ribbon and the big yellow bow in my hair. I still have the ballerina necklace she gave me as a wedding gift. She always had a smile and enjoyed teasing like most Yardley’s do. She will be missed but not forgotten.
