Carol M. Olivas, 74, a longtime resident of Amarillo, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family July 24, 2024. Born in Borger, Texas on July 1, 1950, Carol was the second child of Jesus and Celestina Moreno.

The family will receive visitors this Sunday, July 28, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2024, at New Life Outreach Ministries, 406 Pittsburg Street, Amarillo, with Pastor Spike Maldonado officiating.

Carol “G-Ma” enjoyed cooking, listening to music, and meditating daily. She loved the outdoors and family gatherings. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she cherished talking to them and caring for them. Carol was a loving, welcoming person to everyone she knew.

You will be missed by so many people G-ma, “Mom.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Celestina and Jesus Moreno; three brothers, Jesus Moreno, Jr., Mario Moreno, and George Moreno, and a granddaughter, Senaida Olivas.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, daughter, Celesty Olivas and husband Anthony Hernandez, and sons, Matthew Olivas and Marty Olivas; 6 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
