Carolyn Faye Furstenfeld, aged 76, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026. Born in Ada, Oklahoma, on March 20, 1950, Carolyn spent her formative years in Taft, California, before eventually settling in Texas. She was a woman of quiet strength and a seeking spirit. Carolyn possessed a unique spiritual curiosity, having explored and practiced several religions throughout her life, always seeking deeper meaning and connection to the world around her.
Carolyn found her greatest joy in the quietude of a good book. An avid reader, she could travel the world without ever leaving her armchair. She also cherished physical journeys, often taking long, winding car rides through the countryside to appreciate the vastness of the landscape and the changing seasons, finding solace in the open road and the beauty of the natural world.
Her legacy lives on through her devoted family. Carolyn is survived by her children, Angela Sinclair of Amarillo, TX, Shannon Sinclair-Gibson and life partner Gene Bingham of Mansfield, MO, and Chad Sampson of Mansfield, MO. She was a proud grandmother to Kristin & Christopher Blanco, Shain & Deven Gibson, Ashly & Brandon Galindo, Cory Sampson, Lexi & Jake Gibson, and Caden and Taylor Sampson.
Her light continues to shine through her great-grandchildren, Madelynne, Abygail, and David Blanco, Justin Gibson, Jace, Judah, & Benjamin Galindo, as well as her great-great-grandchildren, Michael and Chrysan Cook-Blanco. Carolyn also leaves behind her brother Rick Gregory & wife Teresa, her sister Sherry Burell, and many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Bonnie Gregory; her brother, Don Gregory; her sister, Glenda Patterson; and her beloved grandson, Gregory Gibson.
Carolyn was one of my favorite residents of all time, I had the pleasure to be her nurse for many years. She loved to read, and always had a smile on her face. She will be missed by everyone here at Heritage.
