Cary Wayne Garrett was born May 4, 1965, to Curtis and Juanell Garrett. He went to be with Jesus April 4, 2023.
Cary was a very special treasure to anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Cary had many names, but Dad, Papa, and Uncle Cary were some of his favorites.
Cary could light up any room that he walked into. Whether he brought a smile, words of encouragement, a joke to make you laugh, or the last dollar out of his wallet, Cary made a huge impact on so many people’s lives. Many valued him and would call just to get his advice or a positive pep talk. Lifting people up and talking them through hard times was just something he did, even if he didn’t know them well.
His kids and grandkids were his whole life, and they will carry on and always remember his lifelong quote, “what’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong.”
Cary is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Juanell, and two brothers, Nicky and Gerald. Heaven gained an amazing angel!
Cary is survived by four children, Cody and wife Sandy, Colten, Heather, and Cydney; the mothers of his children, Carol, and Tammy; fourteen grandchildren that were the light of his life, Devon, Peyton, Alexis, Kyle, Kody, Kwintyn, Brynleigh, Kaiya, Jaxon, Lyric, Zach, Hunter, Abi, and Ava. He is also survived by one great-grandson, Acel; one sister, Melanie; two brothers, Scott, and Dale; his beloved best dog buds, Henry and Missy; his Rabern family, and many other extended family members.
A Celebration of Cary’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday April 16, 2023, at Lighthouse Funeral Home Chapel, 3707 Wolflin Ave., in Amarillo. The family will receive visitors beginning at 2:00 p.m. before the service.
