Charles Philip “Phil” Rogers

Charles Philip “Phil” Rogers, 78, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo, Texas.

Phil was born on July 27, 1945, in Wellington, Texas, to Ted and Virginia Rogers. He graduated in 1963 from Canadian High School in Canadian, Texas, and attended the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. He worked as a computer technician at NCR for 40 years, retiring in 2005. He and his wife, LaDonna, were married on March 21, 1996. They enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, visiting many of the courthouses in Texas. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and a Texas Longhorn fan for life. After retirement, he enjoyed reading and working on jigsaw puzzles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Virginia Rogers.

He is survived by his wife, LaDonna; his daughter and son-in-law, Katy and Jeff Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his stepdaughters, Debbie Brown of Amarillo and Sandy and Barry Rigel of New Braunfels, Texas; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Vicky Rogers of Mexico City, Mexico; his sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Terry Beasley of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Everett Smith, Charlotte Smith, Harley McManaman, Brantley and Hayden Springer, Lilly McManaman, Kyle Brown, Kade Rigel, Khy Rigel, Kiarra and Jerin Swanson and Jared Rigel; his nephews, Dan Rogers and Andrew Rogers, both of Mexico City; his niece, Jennifer and John NiCastro of Long Island, New York; and his great grandchildren, Parker Springer, Brooks Springer, Braxton Rigel and Ryder Rigel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Faith City Mission, in memory of Phil Rogers, 600 N. Tyler, Amarillo, TX 79107.

    Phil, my old friend and coworker you will be greatly missed. I know you are in a better place. Please tell the old NCR bunch that have gone on before you that I said high and will join all of you in time.
