Christopher Ramirez

Christopher Ramirez, 40, of Owatonna, Minnesota, passed away March 10, 2024. He was born March 12, 1983, in Plainview to Clara Ramirez and Abundio Ramirez of Plainview.

Chris attended elementary school at St. Mary’s Catholic School, in Owatonna, Minnesota, where he lived for most of his life. He always had a love for rap music and loved cooking. He was a jokester and enjoyed making people laugh. In 2019, he started his own business cutting trees. He was successful at it. When he was not cutting trees, he was around family and friends, laughing and cutting up.

His smile would light up the room. If you were having a bad day, he would make sure he could make you laugh and forget why you were mad.

Chris loved his kids very much and always talked about how proud he was of them. He wished things were different. He fought to the end and lost his battle to his illness, but not before rededicating his life to Christ.

Chris didn’t want anyone to be sad even at the end. Typical of Chris, he always put others ahead of himself. He was a very forgiving person with a heart of gold, he had your back no matter what.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara Valdez, and Abundio Ramirez, a brother, Albert Chavira, and a son, Easton.

Chris is survived by his adoptive parents, Carolina and Charlie Valdez of Owatonna, Minnesota; 11 children; three sisters, Juanita Ramirez and husband Alfredo Barajas of Owatonna, Minnesota, Irma Castillo and husband Richard of Clarendon, Texas, and Melinda Torres of Memphis, Texas; one brother, Jesse Chavira and wife, Gina of Memphis, Texas; three grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service celebrating Christopher’s life will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 16, 2024, at El Centro de Gracia Church, 1214 Galveston St., Plainview, Texas.

Chris you will forever be missed I’m sorry I wasn’t there…but thank you for our long long talks that lasted until the wee hours of the morning. You’ll never know how much you help me battle those demons that stalked me when I was alone, and that voice when you rapped that I could listen to for hours and now you’re singing with a choir of Angels. Exactly where you belong, we were never understood but it was ok because we knew…this is not a good bye but a One day I will see you again. I love you Christopher always.
