Clara Dollar, 83, of Amarillo, passed away September 17, 2024. She was born in Stanton, North Dakota on September 14, 1941, to Anna and Carl Ehni.
Clara started working at Amarillo High School, first in the cafeteria, then as a custodian. She worked for Amarillo High School for 20 years and retired in 2016. Clara loved to play games, cards, and board games, scrabble was her favorite. She also did crafts of all kinds. When she wasn’t playing board games and crafting, she loved to travel with her sister, Ella Lehman. She loved ice cream, she had a bowl every night, she also loved her chocolate. Clara will be missed by all her family and friends, including her very special friends Betty Martin, Linda Carroll, Barbara Osborne, Cleda and Corkie Gilliam.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents Anna and Carl Ehni; sister Ella Lehman; and brother Harold Ehni.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Dawn Starr of Amarillo, and Tammy Beard and Bonnie Taylor of Monett, Missouri; her sister Molly Warren of El Paso, Texas, and her brother Augie Ehni of Henderson, Nevada. She is also survived by four grandkids and 13 great-grandkids.
I enjoyed playing skipboo,scrabble and Mexican train with Clara. She would always show me the jigsaw puzzle she was working on. She will be missed.
