Connie (Constance) Lee Isbell, 84, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away February 12, 2026. She was born in Santa Fe, NM, on March 18, 1941, to Marvin and Mildred Isbell.
Her family moved to Las Vegas, NM, in 1947. She graduated from Robertson High School and then New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM, with a degree in accounting. She moved to Albuquerque, NM, married Robert C. “Bob” Ostlie, and had three children and one stepdaughter.
She began her career as a secretary and bookkeeper, eventually becoming an accountant. She had also worked as a tax preparer, preparing both corporate and individual tax returns. She formed life-long friendships with her clients.
She loved being social. She cherished her time with her friends, playing cards, sharing meals, and keeping up with everyone around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Mildred Isbell of Las Vegas, NM; brother Stanley Howard Isbell of Amarillo, TX; and sister Vicki Annette Esquibel-Isbell of Guymon, OK.
She is now reunited at the rainbow bridge with her beloved dog “Ivan” (a.k.a. Houdini). They shared a special connection, and we take comfort in knowing they are together again, walking in fields of green, and never to be parted.
Survivors include daughters Shery and her husband Mike Truitt; Kathy Verderame-Ostlie; son Randy Ostlie and his wife Jennifer; stepdaughter Cindy Buhrle and her wife Inge Dielentheis; grandchildren, Michael and Micheala Truitt, Nicholas and Nicole Verderame, and Hunter Ostlie; her sister, Jan Laughlin and husband, Danny of Mapleton, Kansas; three brothers, Leslie Isbell and wife, Brenda of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Ross Isbell of Eugene, Oregon; and Roger Isbell of Manuelitas, NM.
The family would like to thank the staff at SkyWest Assisted Living in Amarillo for their compassion, kindness, and dedicated care provided to Connie in her final weeks of life. We are thankful for the comfort, peace, and dignity they provided. They made a hard time in our life much more peaceful, knowing she was getting the best care and attention. You truly make a difference, and it is sincerely appreciated.

I remember Ms. Isbell and Ivan fondly. She was always a joy to see and Ivan was always a good boy. She will certainly be missed.
