Cruz Diaz Aragon, 80, of Amarillo, entered the presence of the Lord on August 14, 2026. She was born on Friday, May 3, 1946, to Emilio and Carmen (Baca) Diaz in Amarillo, Texas.
Cruz, or Cruzita, as many called her, was a rare, beautiful soul. If you asked anyone who knew her, they would tell you how kind and loving she was, and how she never judged or spoke ill of anyone, no matter what the circumstances. She was truly one-of-a-kind; she was the person you would go to if you simply needed “light” in your life, because she was never in a bad mood. She always knew God would take care of anything in life, and she always made sure to put it into his hands.
She loved getting up early each morning, turning on her radio, and making sure her family and home were taken care of while she sang along to her favorite songs. She will be deeply missed, but we all know she is finally home, resting in peace.
Cruz was preceded in death by her father, Emilio Diaz; her mother, Carmen; her husband, Charlie Aragon; her brothers Bernardo “Benny” Diaz, Luis “Leeche” Diaz, Frank “Pancho” Diaz, Johnny “Billy Goat” Diaz, Enrique “Ricky” Diaz, Tomas Diaz, Johnny “Juan” Diaz, and Gregorio Diaz; her sisters, Cecilia “Chico” Garcia, Antonia “Tonia” Lopez, Eloisa Diaz, Andrea “Juana” Hernandez, Esther Diaz, and Lupita Diaz.
She is also loved and survived by her siblings Raymond “Mono” Diaz, Emilio “Joe Bravo” Diaz, Carmen Diaz, Esther “Peachie” Diaz, Catalina “Cathy” Mendoza, and Mary Diaz; her daughter Charlene Aragon Stumbo, and her spouse Cory, her sons Carlos “Charlie” Aragon, Chris Aragon, and his girlfriend Reina Valles; grandsons Mason Stumbo, Sebastian Aragon, Benjamin Aragon, and Giovanni Villalobos; granddaughters Kassandra Ramirez, Penelope Aragon, Maleeya Stumbo, and Tina Martinez. She is also survived by great-granddaughters, great-grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be recited Sunday evening, August 23, at 6:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1210 SE 11th Ave. The Memorial Service will be Monday, the 24th, at 10 am at the same location. The family invites you to a meal directly after services at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
My Beautiful Tia i will miss you more than you know. The memories all so wonderful. Remember its not good bye its see you later. And yes I will never forget the LARGE from McDonalds. Love you to the moon and back. Love Dominic
