Diane Webster Lee, 73, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025, at St. Ann’s Catholic
Church in Canyon, Texas.

Born in Brownfield, Texas, on July 17, 1952, Diane was the daughter of Loren C. Webster Jr. and Virgina “Ginger” Webster. She graduated from Brownfield High School
in 1970, where she was known for her quick wit, her loyalty to her classmates, and her spirited participation in Powderpuff football. A proud alumna, she cherished her high
school friends throughout her life and took joy in organizing class reunions.

After earning her nursing diploma from the Northwest Texas Hospital School of Nursing, Diane continued her education at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where she received her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certificate in 1974. She was the first Nurse Practitioner in Amarillo, a pioneering achievement that set the course for a distinguished career in medicine. Over the decades, Diane worked in nearly every corner of the hospital—from coronary care and pediatrics to management and
emergency medicine. She helped develop Amarillo’s first IV therapy team, managed programs in flight nursing, and oversaw a range of departments including the emergency room, oncology, renal care, and day surgery. For twenty years, she worked alongside neurosurgeon Dr. Charles Rimmer, assisting in surgery, making hospital rounds, and managing his clinical practice—work she described as the most meaningful of her career. Later, she developed and coordinated one of Amarillo’s first stroke programs before her retirement.

Those who worked with Diane often described her as demanding, brilliant, and fiercely dedicated. She could be intimidating—but she earned the respect and admiration of nearly everyone she encountered. Her colleagues knew her as someone who held herself and others to the highest standards, not out of pride, but because she cared deeply about people’s lives and doing things the right way. In later years, after facing significant health challenges, Diane continued to live with resilience and focus. She
spent her time reading, watching classic films, and crocheting alongside her beloved dog, Aggie, her faithful companion. She also became a strong advocate for ADA
awareness and accessibility, ensuring that others would benefit from the compassion and fairness that had defined her nursing career.

Her faith evolved over the years, anchored most deeply in the words of Ecclesiastes 3:1–8— “To everything there is a season.” Though her path of faith was her own, she
was lovingly pastored in her later years by Fr. Scott Raef, who provided her great comfort and friendship after the passing of her husband, Ron Lee Sr., in 2021.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Lee Sr., her parents Loren C. Webster Jr. and Ginger Webster, and her brother Mike Webster. She is survived by her
son Ron Lee II and his wife Megan, and their children Anna, Rain, and Shepherd, and her daughter Kaytlin Gonzalez and her husband Evan, and their children Sawyer and
Matthew.

Diane will be remembered as a woman of great intelligence, devotion, and strength—a nurse who demanded excellence, a friend who loved fiercely, and a mother and
grandmother who gave what she could, the best way she knew how. Her life was not a portrait of perfection, but of perseverance, courage, and love in all its complexity.
