Dieuveuil Bottex

103 years, 11 months and 11 days was how long our dear father, Dieuveuil Bottex walked this earth.  A seemingly long time, yet decidedly not long enough. His passing proved to be a great affliction to us all.

He would have been so proud and so happy to celebrate his 104th anniversary on the 28th of December but Our Lord deemed it time to bring him into His embrace and welcome him to his eternal resting place.

He passed away peacefully at home on the 11th of December 2022, at 5:00 a.m. in Amarillo, Texas. Those who wish to express their condolences to the family may do so on the 22nd of December 2022 between the hours of 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Chapel, 3707 Wolflin Ave, Amarillo, Texas.  A Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. during the visitation, at the funeral home.

The funeral ceremony will take place on the 23rd of December 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 4500 West Hills Trail, Amarillo, Texas.

He leaves to mourn, their children, Jacqueline (Eddy), Charles (Marielle), Danielle, Jean Mary (Bernalin), Jean-Robert (Debby), Erve (Myrtha), Alex Stevenson (Paula), Guilaine, Cherinette, Renald (Sofonie), Dieuveuil and Vanessa; his brothers, Georges et Lully; his sister, Marcelle; his grandchildren, Evika, Valerie Ariane, Dominique, Victor, Kezley, Marlin, Michelle, Jean Bernard, Aline, Jean Robert Jr., Maeva, Gaelle, Normand, Paul-Alexandre, Sebastien-Tobby, and Dimitri; his great-grandchildren, Andrew, Sebastien Fougy, Kelis Rose, Ame-Solenn, and his many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

To demonstrate our profound gratitude and to honor the memory of this great patriarch, a ceremony will be held on the 28th of December 2022 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church at 3:30 p.m. at 8005 Miramar Pkwy, Miramar, Florida, 33025.

We thank you for the support and comfort that you bring us during these truly saddening times.

May your soul finally know peace, Dad.

I met Maeva in Dallas when she was coming to visit him in April 2022. We talked only briefly and in that time she left a lasting impression on me. If she could impress in just the hour that I’ve known her, I can’t imagine the impact that her kinfolk, who lived 104 years, had on people in his lifetime. May he rest in peace. His legacy lives on in those that loved him. 104 years!
