Dixie RayAnn Blankinship

Dixie RayAnn Blankinship of Amarillo, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the age of 79.

Dixie was the daughter of Wayne and Fern (Schnackenberg) Maninger, born on May 12, 1944 in Wichita, KS.

On December 7, 1964, at the Methodist Church in Corbin, Kansas, Dixie married Lary Blankinship and together they made precious memories for 39 years before Lary’s passing in 2004.

After getting married, Dixie worked at the Wellington Hospital Clinic before moving to the Wellington Junior High where she was a secretary for many years. Upon retiring from the Junior High, she served on the school board and enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and friends, reading, watching movies, eating out with friends, and attending church. Dixie was a long time resident of Wellington, KS before moving to Amarillo, TX in 2017 when Alzheimer’s made it too hard to live on her own. Dixie adored her parents, especially her father.

Survivors include her son, Lary “Lee” (Sandra) Blankinship Jr. of Amarillo, TX; son-in-law, Tony Wagle of Wichita, KS; grandchildren: Justin (Catherine) Blankinship of Cheyenne, WY; Heather (Nick) Cook of Derby, KS; Aidan Blankinship of Amarillo, TX; Andrew Wagle of Wichita, KS; Aaron Wagle of Wichita, KS; Victoria Wagle of Derby, KS; Adam Wagle of Wichita, KS; great grandchildren: Aria Blankinship, Connor Blankinship, and Charlotte Loecke.
