Eden Malaine Soliz

Eden Malaine Soliz, 12, was born July 12, 2011, to Alessandra Soliz, in Amarillo. She passed away surrounded by her loving family in Ft. Worth, Texas at Cook Children’s Hospital.

Although faced with many adversities, Eden lived a fuller life than anyone ever anticipated. She might have seemed a “cranky” person to some, but she had a warm heart to those she loved. She was happiest with her television or iPad close at hand! Her favorite songs came from SpongeBob SquarePants, she would happily sing along in spite of what pain her body might have been in. Her body was frail, yet she was a strong, fierce angel.

All who knew her were aware of how much she loved school. Though her limitations kept her out of school more than she would have liked, she made the most of each day she was able to attend. She never physically walked or ran, but she always loved kicking her legs around in excitement. Her smile could light up your day and change your entire mood. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Eden, you will never be forgotten.

Eden was preceded in death by her great-great-grandmother Nena Martinez; her grandmothers, Ana “Mimi” Herrera, and Maria “Tita” Nelson.

She is survived by her parents, Alan Benjamin Arreola, and Alessandra Soliz; her sister, Evianna Arreola; grandparents, Jerry and Veronica Soliz, and Benjamin and Rosa Arreola; great-grandfathers, Isaias “Papa Sias” Martinez, and Edward “Papa Edward” Herrera; aunts, Jade Soliz, and Brodie Soliz; uncles, Omar Arreola and Gyan Arreola, and cousins, Grey Guthrie, Quentin Guenther.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2023, at the Church at Quail Creek, 801 Tascosa Road, Amarillo, Texas. Private interment will follow.

The service will be live streamed.  Please follow this link for livestreaming:
