Emmett Carlos Wayne Hudson Sr. was born on December 14, 1989, in Bay City, Texas, to Misty and Jerry Hudson. He passed away unexpectedly at the age of 36 on May 18, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas.

Emmett was smart, creative, and fiercely loyal. He loved his family with his whole heart, and they were his greatest source of pride. He joined the United States Army in 2008 and proudly served his country while deployed to Afghanistan. He returned home in 2011.

Emmett met his wife, Sandra, and they married in 2014. That same year, he proudly became a stepfather to Kris and welcomed his first son, Alvin Wayne. He deeply loved being a father. He and Sandra later welcomed three more sons: Emmett Carlos Wayne Jr. (EJ), Nathaniel Hosea, and Erik O’McLemore.

He shared a bond with his boys unlike any other. He passed on to them his love of storytelling, writing stories together, and creating memories through their shared love of video games. Emmett loved each of his sons deeply, and his youngest, two-year-old Erik, was often close behind, earning the title of his daddy’s little shadow.

Emmett gave each of his boys the very best parts of himself. He was a devoted father, loving husband, cherished son, and proud big brother.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Wayne Hudson; his maternal grandparents, Carlos “Buck” and Beverly McLemore; his step-grandmother, Noel Boyd; his paternal grandparents, Emmett and Imogene Hudson; and several beloved childhood pets.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Valdez Hudson; his sons, Kris Valdez, Alvin Wayne, Emmett Carlos Wayne Jr., Nathaniel Hosea, and Erik O’McLemore; his mother, Misty, and stepfather, Tim Siniard; his sister and brother-in-law, Talina Brundage and husband Rydell; uncle Patrick and cousins, Samantha and Christopher; his in-laws; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Little One.

Emmett will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his creativity, his storytelling, and the deep devotion he gave to those he loved most.

His family will receive visitors on Monday, May 25, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, at 2:00 p.m. at the same location.
