Ernest Escalante Jr., 59, of Amarillo, Texas was called to his heavenly home on October 1st, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas.
The rosary will be held on Monday, October 5th, 2020 at 6:00 p.m at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed as this was close to Ernest’s heart. Arrangements are under the personal care of Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services of Amarillo.
Ernest was born in Brownfield, Texas, on June 18, 1961 to Ernest, Sr. and Gloria Escalante.
Ernest devoted most of his time serving the Lord through volunteering his time at St. Mary’s Cathedral and when not helping at church he enjoyed spending time with family. Ernest would assist with mass, funerals, and with the school at St Mary’s.
Ernest loved his grandchildren and spent every chance he could with them taking them on trips, sharing cupcakes, and loving them like grandpas do.
He was preceded in death by his father Ernest Escalante Sr. and Mother Gloria Escalante.
He is survived by his three sons Dominic and his three children- Dominique, Natalie and Adrein- all from Amarillo; and his son Josh, his wife Erika and their two children- Hennicie Roman and Anthony all from Amarillo; and his son John, his wife Grace and their two children- Ceasar and Emilia-all from San Antonio. His loving and caring former spouse Veronica Escalante. Brother Victor, his wife Tammy and family; Sister Mary Rocha and family; Sister Sylvia, her husband Patrick and family.

You will be so missed Ernest. Thank you for being such a light to all you encountered. Your humor and kindness brightened anyone’s day. Your calm spirit was something I admired and strived to have. You always seemed so peaceful. Rest with all the Saints and Angels Mr. Ernest!!
