Eva Cornell

Eva Cornell, 80, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023.  She was born July 30, 1943 in Amarillo, to the late Benigno and Magdalena Chavez.  She married Jackie Cornell and was a hairdresser for many years.  Eva will be greatly missed by all who loved and cherished her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie; her two children, Geneva Taylor and Billy Jack Cornell; her parents; a sister and two brothers.

Survivors include her granddaughter Misti Brice of Amarillo; grandson, Michael Taylor of Minnesota; great-granddaughter, Alexcis Estrada of Amarillo; her brothers, Gilbert Chavez and wife Donna of Garland, and Manuel Martinez of Amarillo; a sister, Dora Fox of San Antonio, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Llano Cemetery with Pastor Spike Maldonado officiating.

    Eva, I thank you love you and most of all, You are an will be missed. You was the best Aunt ever, You not once turned me away nor did you ever do me wrong.
    You lived life as it came, helping those that asked and even the that didn’t.
    I know your up there with your family, whole again.

    Mi abuilta there isn’t a day that goes by I don’t have you on my mind. Knowing you are pain free an with my momma an Billo course grandpa. I came across some pics an your smile warmed my heart. It told me I was gonna be just fine. I admired your strength an you were so brave during the last days. We had our conversation without even talking. I still go to your old room (cause now you have a mansion) saying good morning sunshine an there was that smile. You were the best grandma ever You will always hold that special place in my heart. I miss you so much I love you even more. Please continue to watch over us. Give my momma an Billo an grandpa big hugs , Heaven has all my angels I love you.

    I miss you so much! And I know that you have never corrected me, but I have always called you Aunt Eve. And I remember going to watch Billy race, and you would buy me a Butterfinger and a Coke! And I will go play bingo for you, just without the dobbers.
