Frank Rhyne, 58, of Amarillo, passed away on August 17, 2026. He was born in Midland, Texas, on December 15, 1967, to Russell F. and Clara R. (Bryan) Rhyne.
He was a truly special man who found so much happiness in the simple, beautiful moments of life, especially when he was surrounded by the people he loved most. Family meant everything to him. Some of his happiest moments were spent sitting together, laughing, talking, and making memories with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He had such a tender and loving heart, especially when it came to the little ones. He would sing lullabies to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, filling those moments with so much warmth, comfort, and love. Those lullabies were more than just songs—they were little pieces of his heart that he gave to them. The sound of his voice, the way he cared for them, and the love he showed them are memories they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
He loved playing bingo and enjoyed the fun and excitement that came along with it. His favorite color was purple, a beautiful color that will always bring a little reminder of him to those who knew and loved him. He had a way of bringing light into the lives of the people around him. He was always willing to help the people he cared about, and he gave so much of himself to the ones he loved. His kindness, generosity, and loving spirit made him someone truly special.
The holidays were another time that brought him so much joy. He loved the feeling of family being together, the traditions, the laughter, and the warmth that came with celebrating together. One of the most treasured traditions was reading ’Twas the Night Before Christmas’ on December 24th. It was a tradition filled with love and anticipation, and it became one of those precious memories that made the holidays feel even more magical.
There are so many things that will be missed about him—the sound of his voice, his laughter, his kindness, his stories, his loving presence, and all of the little things that made him who he was. But most of all, his family will miss the love he gave so freely and the way he made them feel cared for and loved.
His life was filled with love, and his greatest gift was the love he left behind. Every lullaby he sang, every holiday memory, every game of bingo, every laugh shared, and every moment spent with his family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Even though we can no longer hold his hand or hear his voice, his love will never leave us. He will live on through his children, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, and everyone whose life he touched. His memory will be carried forward through every story we tell, every tradition we continue, and every moment when we look at the people he loved and remember just how much love he had in his heart.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Russell F. and Clara R. (Bryan) Rhyne; his siblings, Wesley Gray, Fredrick Gray, Sr., Arthur D. Rhyne, Peggy D. Rhyne, Johnny R. Rhyne, and Karen D. Rhyne, and his grandson, Tristian B. Hickman-Maxey.
His memory will be cherished by his wife, Cynthia Rhyne; his daughter, Theresa Haynie and husband Jason; his grandchildren, Serinity West and husband Nicholas, Adam Fletcher, Jaden Fletcher, Sebastian Hickman, Apolinar Hickman, Charity Hickman, Christian Hickman-Maxey, and Nevah Hickman; his great-grandchildren, Phillip West, Dante West, and soon-to-be Zander West.
He was a light in so many lives, and even though that light feels incredibly hard to see without him here, it will never truly go out. We will carry it with us.
He will always, always be loved.
He will always, always be remembered.
And he will always, always be missed.
May he rest peacefully, surrounded by all the love he gave so freely throughout his life. Until we meet again, we will hold you in our hearts, cherish every memory, and love you forever.
