Gallena Beth Scrivner

Gallena Beth Scrivner, 66, of Amarillo passed away April 16, 2024.  She was born in Wheeler, Texas on October 3,1957 to the late Kenneth D. Ford and Joyce Ford Perkins.

Gallena attended Wheeler High School and graduated in 1976.  She worked for many years in Wheeler at the Wheeler Courthouse and the Wheeler Vet Clinic.    She was married to Jesse Scrivner in 1991.  She had two wonderful children Amber Ford Warren of Amarillo, Texas, and Randalfin Morningstar of Battleground Washington State. She was injured in a vehicle accident that left her paralyzed for the last 29 years. This did not define her as she continued to do yard work, pull weeds, maintain a home, and take care of children even from a wheelchair.

She became friends with Melanie Blackburn Brannum through home health and ended up raising three wonderful granddaughters, Maykaylah, Eliana, and Vanessa.  These girls were the joy of her life and she loved having adventures with them from Wonderland Park to hotel stays to play in the pool.  She also loved her fur babies, Elsa and Anna and many other dogs through the years.

Gallena loved her family dearly whether they were near or far away.  She brought so much joy and hope to others and will be missed by everyone that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse Scrivner of the home and her children Amber of Amarillo, Texas and Randalfin Morningstar of Battleground Washington State; Melanie Blackburn Brannum and husband Terry of Canyon, Texas; three amazing granddaughters Maykaylah and Eliana, of Canyon, Texas, and Vanessa Midgett of Amarillo, Texas.

Surviving siblings are Dewayne Ford and wife Debbie of Canadian, Texas, Becky Ford Shirley and husband Warren of Chriesman, Texas, Tina Deger and husband David of Watagua, Texas, Robert Ford and wife Marla of Wheeler, Texas and Teri Ford Seitz and husband Dave of Wylie, Texas, and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

There will be a celebration of life in Canyon, Texas on Saturday, April 27, 2024.  Please contact Amber via email at, if you would like to attend for the address and time.  There will also be a private family celebration of life at a later date.
