Gayle Wood, 59, of Amarillo, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, September 6, 2024. She was born January 1, 1965, in Amherst, Texas to Clifford and Doraelia (Vasquez) Wood.
Am Memorial Service celebrating Gayle’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Cornerstone Outreach Ministry, 1111 Buchanan St., in Amarillo.
We mourn the loss of Gayle, a remarkable mother, sister, and grandmother whose heart of gold and boundless kindness made a lasting impact on all who knew her. An amazing mother, who was always there to support her children, offering unwavering love and standing by their side through every obstacle.
Known for her selflessness and resilience, she faced life’s challenges with grace and strength. Gayle had a profound love for reading and found joy in helping others, especially the children of her family and community, with whom she shared her warmth and affection.
Her deep involvement in her church reflected her commitment to nurturing both her faith and her loved ones. Her legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering support will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doraelia Vasquez and Clifford James Wood, and her sister, Susana Parga.
Gayle will forever be remembered by her children, Alan Adame, Kiana Girby, Marcos Mediano, and Amado “AJ” Mediano; her five grandchildren, Stevie, Bella, Sabrina, Alan Jr., and Lorenzo; her sister, Diana Baca; her brothers, James Wood and Daniel Wood, and 14 nieces and nephews.
Gail was so humble and kind! She was so loving with the children she kept in the church nursery! She will be sorely missed!
