It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Genabeth Rawlins Wilson, known mostly as Gus, on December 12, 2025. She was a force of nature—stubborn, independent, and fiercely loving. Her fiery spirit and unwavering work ethic shaped her life and inspired everyone around her. For many years, she brought joy to others as a talented hairdresser, creating beautiful transformations and lasting connections with her clients.
Gus was born October 24,1949 in Sherman, Tx. Gus had a green thumb and found joy in gardening, nurturing her plants with love and care. She was a devoted fan of Elvis, often filling her home with his music, and her beloved dogs were a constant source of companionship. Her creativity was evident in all aspects of her life.
She is survived by her children: John C. Thomas and wife Toni of Clarksville, Tennessee; Eugena “Gena” Wells and husband Alan of Stinnett, Texas; and Sarah Webb and husband Mike of Borger, Texas. Gus held a special place in her heart for her children’s spouses. She cherished her grandchildren, Asher, Paxton, Daniel, Charlotte, and Emlyn, as well as her beloved grandnephew Lonnie and nephew Bo Rawlins of Shamrock.
She is also survived by her siblings, Budge Rawlins and Susan Elms of Perryton, Texas, along with her ex-sister-in-law Gwen Rawlins. Her nephews Doug, Colt, Cameron, Mike, and Stacy will also remember her fondly.
Gus was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Robert Rawlins and Geneva Yara, her ex-husband Theodore “Ted” Wilson, and her dear brother, Lonnie Eugene Rawlins.
A private memorial service will be held to celebrate her life.
