Gloria Garcia, a resident of Amarillo, Texas and our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 74.

Gloria was born March 24, 1951, in Uvalde, Texas with a total of 11 brothers and sisters. She was raised by her parents to work hard as they were migrant workers and traveled up north to west Texas, Nebraska and Colorado. When they eventually settled in Quanah, Texas where her mom and dad began working as custodians at Hardeman County Hospital. She loved football and was a true die-hard 49ers fan, especially for Joe Montana. She truly loved going to Bingo, especially Lawndale daytime bingo. She called it her “job”. She had her daily routine and places she would get her dinner specials and go home to watch her Novelas. She loved everyone, cared for everyone and will forever be missed.

She was preceded in death by her father Ponciano Martinez and mother Gregoria Martinez, her brothers and sisters, Tony Martinez, Joe Martinez, Corina Martinez, Ruben Martinez, Arturo Martinez, Olivia Avila; her daughter Michelle Garcia and son, Tommy Garcia; husband Mario Moreno; ex-husband Eulogio Garcia, and her stepson, Eugene Luna.

Gloria is survived by her fiancé, Bill Luna, his children Caroline, Corina, Delores. She is also survived by her oldest son, Eulogio Garcia, his wife Jolene Benavidez their 8 children and 5 grandbabies; daughters, Delores Flores, her husband Andy, with her 4 children and 5 grandchildren, Florinda Garcia, her boyfriend Jason Harris with her 2 sons and 4 grandchildren, Connie Delgado, her husband Miguel, with her 2 children and 6 grandchildren; Michelle’s daughter and her 2 grandbabies; Tommy’s 6 children and his 8 grandchildren; her siblings, Mary Martinez, Chano Martinez, Elva Jalomo and Oscar Martinez.

Her memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on July 28, 2025, at Power Church on 1344 SE 10th Street in Amarillo, TX and immediately followed by the reception at The Party Suites on 4400 S. Washington, 79110 in the Grand Suite.
