Gregorio Diaz, 74, of Amarillo, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026. An Amarillo native, he was born on March 12, 1952, to Emilio and Carman (Baca) Diaz.
Gregorio enjoyed being with family, listening to music, dancing and working on cars to put in car shows. He worked as a cement finisher and as a construction worker.
Gregorio is preceded in death by his father Emilio Diaz, his mother Carmen Diaz, his brothers Bernardo (Benny) Diaz, Luis (Leeche) Diaz, Frank B (Pancho) Diaz, Johnny (Billy Goat) Diaz, Enrique (Ricky) Diaz, Tomas Diaz, Johnny (Juan) Diaz; his sisters, Cecilia (Chico) Garcia, Antonia (Tonia) Lopez, Eloisa Diaz, Andrea (Juana) Hernandez, Esther Diaz, and Lupita Diaz.
He is remembered and survived by his daughter Eloisa Gonzales, two grandsons, his siblings, Esther (Peachie) Lopez, Raymond (Mono) Diaz, Carmen Diaz, Cruz Aragon, Catalina (Cathy) Mendoza, Emilio (Joe Bravo) Diaz, and Mary Diaz, and many nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. on Friday May 29, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1210 SE 11th Ave, Amarillo, Texas. A Memorial Mass will follow the Rosary. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery. All who loved Gregorio are welcome to attend.
