Harry Jadel “Jay” George, Jr.

Harry Jadell “Jay” George Jr., age 81, passed away on March 16, 2026. He was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee, on June 6, 1944, to Harry Jadell George Sr. and Ella Bennett Love.

He moved to Texas in 1980. He worked in the oil field for a few years as a derrick hand, then became an electrician until his retirement. He never met a stranger. He was happy, fun-loving, loving, and polite. He loved fishing, watching football, and old western movies.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Bennett Love; stepfather, the man he called “dad,” A.W. Love; a granddaughter, Crystal Pettie; and a grandson, Michael Pettie.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Millie Ray George; daughter, Vicki Jo Sanderson Pettie; 2 close cousins, Janice Holland Moody Choete and husband Johnny of Sorrell’s Chapel, Tennessee, and Larrey Bennett of Newbern, Tennessee; 3 great-grandchildren, Katelyn Pattie, Chole Pettie, and Jordon Pettie Sharbeno; as well as 4 little dogs, Sassy, Missy, Blacky, and Rusty.
