Helen McNabb

In loving memory of Helen McNabb, who went to her heavenly home on February 25, 2024, at the age of 72.

A Memorial Service celebrating Helen’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Encounter Church, 200 Tascosa Road, Amarillo, Texas.

Helen was born December 28, 1951, in Dumas, Texas.  She was married to Richard McNabb on April 14, 1984.  She loved God, and her family with all her heart.  Helen was a kind and wise woman who left a lasting impact not only on her own children, but also the children of many other Amarillo families as she taught the principles of kindness, love, and respect to all the children she cared for as the proud owner of her own home daycare.

Helen enjoyed hosting traditional family gatherings in her warm and inviting home.  A fantastic cook, she took great joy in feeding and caring for her family and friends.  She loved baking, and she was a blue-ribbon winner two years in a row, at the Tri-State fair for her famous cinnamon rolls.  She was a loving and generous person with a huge heart, full of grace.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Helen was preceded in death by her mother Detta Fears, and father Jimmy (JT) Williams; her sister Scooter Williams, and her brothers, Don and Jimmy Williams.

Left to cherish her precious memory are her husband, Richard McNabb; her sisters, Laverda Williams, and Felicia Sandoval; her brother, Brian Williams; her sons, Tim McNabb and wife Nicholle, Justin McNabb and wife Ashlie; her daughters, Marie McNabb,  Haley Rios and husband Richard; her grandchildren, Dominique Mathies, Meadow Rios, Jozalyn Rios, Evan McNabb, Austyn Garcia, Ethen Garcia, Abigail Garcia, Alexas McNabb, Breanna McNabb, and her niece and nephew, Debbie and Stan Moore.

“He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth:

for the LORD hath spoken it.” (Isaiah 25:8)

Helen my sister-in-law was a kind and giving sister to Jimmie Tee. She and Richard took such good care of him when he came to Amarillo in 2011. God bless you my dear Helen. Thank you for your beautiful soul.

Every time JJ took me to yalls house, you would ask me if I wanted anything to drink or anything I needed. My first southern family hospitality! The McNabb’s are a class act family, and she was the glue to hold it all together! You raised a great man in Justin (JJ) and I am honored to be a part of yalls family! You will be missed!

    Peace and love
