Jahmal Ortavious Ervin Sr., was the fifth child born to James and Lykethia Ervin on Friday, July 2, 1999, at 1:43pm in Amarillo Texas.
At an early age Jahmal accepted the Lord as his personal savior and was baptized at New Light Ministries. He attended Opportunity School, Robert E. Lee Elementary, Lawndale Elementary, Bonham Junior High. He recently graduated from Wade Gordon Hairdressing Academy.
On January 12, 2019, his first child, his heart, Jahmal Ortavious Ervin, Jr was born. On December 31, 2019, he had a daughter, Loyalty Monique Ervin, she was the apple of his eye. Jahmal was working at Amarillo Cotton Warehouse.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather James Oscar Ervin Sr., and his grandmother Ethel Boney Williams.
Those left to cherish his memories are his parents Lykethia Ervin (Tammy) and James Ervin (Tasha); his two children Jahmal Jr. and Loyalty; three sisters Tiara Hodgest, Tarika Harper and Tamara Ervin; three brothers, James Ervin III, Natrin Cleveland, Sr. and JohnQuarius Ervin; thirteen nieces and nephews Nazirria, Aniyah, Ti’Annah, Trezure, Ke’Arda, Z’Aniyah, Natrin Jr., Jayden, Lamiyah, Nevaeh, James IV, Janauri, Kaziyah; three aunts Daphne Robinson (Aunt Dap Dap) of Amarillo, Towllia Phillips (Marvin) of Dallas Texas, Sandra Brown of Houston Texas; one uncle Fredrick Marsh; grandmother Phylliss Molden of Oklahoma; and a host of cousins and other family members and an even greater host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Lighthouse Funeral Home Chapel, 3707 Wolflin Ave. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
