James Devero Gallatin passed peacefully from this life on October 17, 2025. James was born in Amarillo on April 4, 1961, and was one of five children of Charles and Kathryn Gallatin.

Jim faced many personal challenges in his life but fought to overcome them. James is remembered as being a kind, helpful and non-judgmental person. James was an independent person who worked hard to maintain his home and acre of property despite limited means.

In his free time James loved to watch action and science fiction movies and was proud of his extensive DVD collection. Jim was also a talented photographer who built a dark room in his home when a teenager and had an eye for a unique photo. James took memorable pictures including prize winning photographs.

James graduated from Alamo Catholic High School in Amarillo and lived the majority of his life in Amarillo.

He is survived by his sister Mary and his brothers Charles, Andrew and David Gallatin as well as his nephews Travis and Colby Gallatin. The family requests any contributions be made to the mental health foundation of your choice.
